Katrina Briscoe, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Background and Professional Focus
Katrina is passionate about working with individuals of all ages and with couples and families. She is committed to providing successful treatment outcomes for clients. It is her belief that individuals deserve someone to hold space and provide empathy for their struggles, and that clients deserve results. Katrina is motivated to provide clients relief from difficult life circumstances.
Katrina has a background in Early Childhood Education working as a lead teacher in Jewish preschools and has spent time as a volunteer at 826CHI providing after school homework help and creative writing activities for elementary school aged children.
Katrina utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients expand their power over self-soothing, emotional regulation and distress tolerance. CBT provides individuals useful, simple tools to implement into day to day life management. She also believes it enhances our ability to expand our consciousness beyond our fixated thoughts and previous unhelpful stories (sometimes written by our inner critic) which have created our experiences and truths. Katrina integrates narrative therapy and mindfulness tools into treatment to help clients create a new autobiography that is useful, filled with compassion, forgiveness and acceptance.
